Hawaii

So, Hawaii was great. I didn't magically heal in the sunlight as I had hoped, but I did enjoy the wonderful company of my bestie, and the gorgeous landscapes of the island of Oahu. It was a very short week, but I enjoyed shave ice and pork fries in the North Shore, piña coladas at the Ko Olina lagoons, mojito coladas at The Edition in Waikiki, and delicious sushi at Morimoto. Below are a few pics from the trip. Enjoy!

Pork fries!

These were pretty tasty, but the bartender was too slow.

From my best friend's garden!

The Edition at Waikiki. The room was seriously so pretty!

The adorable gift shop at The Edition

Everything, down to the lighting, was spot on at The Edition.

Here are a few of the products I bought to take with me on my trip:

Another tried and true favorite. I just ran out of my last compact in a darker shade (I'm lighter now after the winter) so I bought this one again. If you have oily skin this might not be matte enough for you, and you will definitely need blotting papers or some mattifying powder for touching up throughout the day.

This mascara is clumpy as all hell, but it’s very easy to tidy up if you accidentally smudge some on your skin while applying. The brush is curved in different ways that allows for creative techniques. If not for theclumpiness, the water-proof performance is pretty impressive.

Gorgeous color (no. 37 "satin bright pink"), amazing pigment, long lasting and price you can’t complain about. Ten stars.

This is my favorite tried-and-true, make-anything-water-proof product. But I use this after I apply my eye liner and brush it on. It works, and it works well. I’ve never tried it for lipstick or anything other than eye make up, but I’d be curious to see how it performs.

This one is nice, but not fantastic. The girl that worked at Sephora told me it would make any makeup water-proof. I should have read the box before taking her word for it, because the box did not mention that at all. It still works well as a primer, but pretty pricey—and doesn't make anything "water proof."

I can't wait to go back!

I would be impatient waiting for that pineapple drink too! I have never been to Hawaii but I'm really liking how modernistic and white all of the buildings and rooms look. That sounds so dreamy I can totally use a vacay right now lol.

Do give the before and after hair pics of your dramatic haircut! Your hair looks just as long as mine, I totally need some styling tips when the big cut happens. =0D
